real . right in the middle . off the cuff
Keynotes for people facing health-related crises, doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical companies and healthcare payers
My keynote presentations are professionally structured, interactive, and impact-driven, designed to engage audiences and establish a strong connection within a short time. Through purposeful storytelling and evidence-informed rapid learning techniques, my talks are memorable, relevant, and inspiring.
At conferences, professional congresses, and corporate events, participants gain new perspectives on resilience, inner strength, and navigating health-related crises — empowering them to approach personal and professional challenges with clarity and confidence.
The content, focus, and objectives of each keynote are discussed in advance with my clients to ensure that the message is precisely aligned with the target audience, organizational context, and strategic goals.

Keynote 1: The Elephant in the room
Crises may be strong, but you are stronger.
Crises are part of life — we all know that. But what if they don’t just knock on the door, but instead plop their five-ton astral body right down in the middle of your living room?
Welcome to my world — and to the world of EDGAR, my very own personal crisis animal. EDGAR has been with me for two decades. I can’t meditate him away — so I’ve learned how to live with him. And more importantly: how to find joy for life right in the middle of crisis.
In this keynote, I show how we can avoid breaking under the weight of crises — and instead emerge from them stronger. With humor, lived experience, and my GENAUSO Principle, I share practical, immediately applicable impulses for inner strength and optimism — even in the darkest moments.
And yes — EDGAR will of course be there too.
What’s in it for you?
-
You’ll discover new perspectives — and learn how to use the “elephant in the room” to your advantage

-

-
You’ll take home inspiration and motivation — empowering you to emerge from crises stronger

Keynote 2: How to be a Rockstar in crisis!
Navigating difficult life phases with joy and inner strength.
All of us experience crises — relationship crises, existential crises, health-related crises. There is one feeling they all share: uncertainty. The uncertainty of how we will get through it, when it will finally be over, and what life will look like afterward. Enduring this uncertainty requires inner strength — and preserving joy for life while doing so is one of life’s greatest challenges. In a touching and emotional way, I share my seven pathways that continue to help me navigate my daily, often overwhelming uncertainty with strength and clarity. In this talk, you’ll hear how I keep moving forward step by step, how I get back up after every setback, and how I refuse to lose faith in a positive future.
What’s in it for you?
- You’ll learn seven ways to navigate challenging life situations and emerge stronger
- You’ll gain clarity, structure, and stability to guide you through crises
- You’ll maintain focus, performance, and productivity despite emotional strain
- You’ll strengthen not only yourself, but also become a source of support for others

Keynote 3: Doctor – Human | Human – Doctor
Building trust and effective communication with patients and their families
I am deeply familiar with the medical environment — even though I am neither a physician nor a nurse, not a paramedic, and not part of the pharmaceutical industry.
Due to family circumstances, I have repeatedly found myself as a “guest” in intensive care units around the world. This journey began with the birth of my first son and the many challenges surrounding his rare genetic condition — Loeys-Dietz syndrome.
In this keynote, I share how I continue to move forward step by step, how I maintain faith in a positive future, and what kind of behavior, communication, and human connection I wish for from people working in the medical field.
What’s in it for you?
- Hear firsthand how you can support not only patients, but especially their families through severe medical crises
- Receive concrete suggestions on how to improve and refine your communication with patients and their families
- Gain insights into how to build or deepen trust with patients and their families quickly and authentically
- Learn practical approaches to help patients and their loved ones navigate uncertainty

Keynote 4: Nurses – a lifeline in times of crisis
Strength and support for patients & families
Nurses have an extraordinary influence on the mental and emotional well-being of their patients and their families. They are at the bedside 24/7 and often know those affected even better than the treating physician. They are heard, trusted — and uniquely positioned to provide strength, reassurance, and stability.

What Clients Say About My Keynotes
Ms. Oder is the mother of a young patient and a professional keynote speaker. With her keynote, she made a highly engaged and valuable contribution to our anniversary event.
The discussion that followed in the second part of the event was absolutely compelling, deeply relatable, and very authentic.
On behalf of the entire Department of Vascular Surgery, we would like to extend our sincere thanks.
We were delighted to welcome Carolin Oder as a speaker at our international symposium in London, dedicated to improving life with Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, and VEDS.
Carolin was inspiring and uplifting as she shared her family’s personal journey with Loeys-Dietz syndrome, along with powerful messages for our audience of more than 200 participants.
She was energetic and engaging, incorporating music into her talk and evoking a wide range of emotions — from laughter to tears.
After a long day of medical presentations, Carolin offered an important perspective and a refreshing, deeply human contribution.
In her keynote, Carolin shared a deeply personal and moving life story. Her message was a powerful reminder that technical expertise alone is not enough.
When nurses choose to connect with patients as human beings, they become far more than caregivers — they become stabilizing forces in times of overwhelming uncertainty.
Carolin’s closing message was clear: nurses are empowered to make a difference — and by doing so, they bring strength and dignity even to the most fragile situations.
Carolin’s talk was, quite honestly, the absolute highlight of the day. She spoke with so much strength and inspiration and gave me a message I will never forget.
At this year’s Herznetztag, Carolin Oder deeply moved the audience with her life story. Her positive energy and empathetic presence were truly inspiring and conveyed a strong sense of inner strength.
In her book “Plötzlich Krise – was jetzt?”, she presents her seven pathways to inner strength.
Genauso – unbedingt lesenswert.
